AT&T and BlackRock Announce GigaPower Joint Venture

Challenge

AT&T had a strong fiber business in its 21-state footprint but needed to expand into new markets through a joint venture. The challenge was positioning the announcement for AT&T, other possible partner providers, and BlackRock.

Approach

My team led the development of the timeline and communications framework. We collaborated with internal clients, legal, IR, communications, and BlackRock PR teams to create a scenario-based plan with messaging and materials. Despite numerous delays that required flexibility and constant coordination, we successfully announced the news just before the holidays.

Results

The announcement was well received by the street and key stakeholders, securing more than 240 media hits.
